Poll: Strong Majority Want to Keep Our Community in Atlanta
Dear Friends and Supporters:
We are writing to update you on news regarding our effort to keep Atlanta united.
The Committee for a United Atlanta commissioned a poll of Buckhead voters that show a strong majority want to keep our community in the City of Atlanta. Only a small minority favor breaking away from Atlanta to create a new city.
The poll showed that 61% of Buckhead voters want to remain part of the city. Only 30% say they would vote to leave Atlanta.
Further, almost every demographic group would stay in Atlanta, which includes 56% of white voters and 86% of black voters. Every age group opposes cityhood, as well as men and women.
Buckhead voters like the job Mayor Dickens is doing. 55% rate him either excellent or good, while only 26% rate him negatively, giving him a net +29% approval rating.
The survey of 380 likely voters in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood was conducted on May 21-25, 2022.
The Committee for a United Atlanta will continue to stay deeply involved in our community. We are working closely with Mayor Dickens, the City Council, and business and civic leaders.
so that we can collectively address the serious issues that we face, such as violent crime, in our community and the city at large.
We will also continue to push back against untruthful, self-destructive, and divisive efforts by those who want to break-up Atlanta.
Please let us know if you would like a yard sign and we will have it delivered to your home.
Sincerely,
Linda Klein & Edward Lindsey
